We need your help.
As many of your know Hayfield has been working hard to raise funds for the installation of two synthetic turf fields. We have reached our fundraising goal and the money is in place. Hayfield was actually the first school to reach the fundraising goal. Right now construction has begun at West Potomac and Mt. Vernon which is great for their community but we should be having ours installed as well. Just recently the School Board and the Department of Facilities and Transportation Services (FTS) decided to delay installation until summer 2015. The saddest part is that given this two year lag time, many of the families who contributed funds last fall will never have an opportunity to utilize the new fields if the proposed timeline stands. This is unacceptable and we need to make sure our voices are heard. We are asking that you help us ensure that the School Board and the Department of Facilities and Transportation Services (FTS) are aware of the unfairness and lack of transparency in their decision.
